THE CONTRACT
This contract is between Advice Peru and the client. The client is expected to have read and understood our travel policy outlined below. These conditions apply only to services in our program and not to the international and national flights. International and national flights are subject to the conditions imposed by the airlines.
RESPONSIBILITY
Advice Peru only as an agent for the client and cannot be held responsible for services provided by airlines, hotels or any other supplier. Advice Peru cannot be held liable for any injuries, damages or losses caused to any traveler in connection with terrorist activities, social or labor unrest, mechanical failures, climate conditions, criminal acts or any other condition outside Advice Peru´s control.
Bookings are accepted on the understanding that clients recognize the possible risks inherent to adventure travel and that they undertake the tours featured in our program at their own will. It is also important to understand that the most meticulously planned arrangements can go wrong. There may be occasions when delays, discomforts or unforeseen circumstances will occur. Advice Peru cannot accept responsibility for these eventualities.
PACKAGE PRICES
All prices are in US Dollars, and are subject to change, without notice, due to currency fluctuation, hotel or airline rate changes, or increase in operational costs, until the total amount is received by Advice Peru. If a traveler is not willing to pay such an increase, all payments made will be refunded according to our Refund and Cancellations policies.
DEPOSIT
A security deposit is required to book any trip package (This deposit is non-refundable).
For treks only: USD 280.00.
Package only: 30% of the full payment.
For customized and complete tour packages: A percentage of the total cost will be required. For packages that include international flights, an additional deposit will be required.
Final Payment: Full payment is due 60 days prior to date of departure. All packages are subject to price and availability changes until paid in full. We accept all major credit cards (Discover, Visa and MasterCard.)
REVISIONS AND CANCELLATIONS
In the event, you need to change your travel plans after booking, certain restrictions may apply. Revision, cancellation, and refund policies vary in accordance with the supplier´s policies (hotels, transfers, tickets, etc.). In addition, we reserve the right to charge USD 50.00 as an administrative fee.
TRIPS REQUIRING INCA TRAIL PERMITS
If the trip is cancelled by the client and the permit for the trek has been issued, the USD 300.00 security deposit is non-refundable and non-transferable. Inca Trail permits are issued by a Peruvian government agency. Due to high demand and limited space availability, permits for the Inca Trail have to be purchased months in advance.
In the event that we are not able to secure you a permit and you are not able to start the trek on a different date, the security deposit will be fully reimbursed, less any bank transfer fees. The security deposit becomes non-refundable once the permit has been issued.
DOCUMENTS
A valid passport will be required for booking the Inca Trail. For student discounts, a valid ISIC is also required. If a valid ISIC is not provided at the time of booking, we will process your booking at regular rates. You MUST bring your valid passport and ISIC with you to the trek.
Your passport also needs to be valid at least 6 months after your trip return date. A valid passport is required for travel in the country of destination.

AIRFARE
The airfare for all packages may not be guaranteed with regard to price or availability until paid in full. Schedule, flights and fares are based on current rates at time of ticketing. These may change without notice. Every effort will be made to obtain the best fares and schedule available. Once a flight is booked, the price of it will need to be paid in full immediately. No refunds are available in case of cancellations.
EXCLUSIONS
Prices do not include gratuities, insurance, airport taxes and passport or visa fees. Nor do they include telephone calls, other personal or incidental items or any other features not listed.
TRAVEL INSURANCE
Advice Peru strongly recommends taking travel insurance in case unforeseen circumstances make it necessary for you to make changes. (Please inquire as to cost and coverage at time of booking.)
CONFIRMATION
Please confirm flights with the airline prior to departure. For domestic flights, 24 hours is recommended. For international flights, 72 hours is mandatory.
Check-in Requirements: It is important to arrive at the airport at least 2 hours prior to departure for all domestic flights and 3 hours prior to departure for international flights.
Tickets and Vouchers: Travel documents will be emailed to you two to three weeks prior to departure. Please check your documents when you receive them. Lost, stolen or destroyed tickets or vouchers cannot be replaced or refunded.
Important: Bring with you all documents provided by Advice Peru.
ACCOMMODATIONS
We will try our best to book the hotels that we advertise on our itineraries and website; however, during the peak seasons we may be forced to offer substitutes. In this event, we will provide a few choices and the client will have the opportunity to choose any of those or cancel his/her booking within one week of our notice.
In the event you need to change your travel plans after booking your accommodation in Peru, certain restrictions may apply. Revision, cancellation, and refund policies vary in accordance with the hotel or hostel supplier´s policies (Please ask for further details). The majority of hotels and hostels in Peru do not accept cancellations 30 days prior to check-in date. If a hotel or hostel does not accept cancellations, a refund of the amount paid won´t be issued.
VACCINES
Vaccinations may also be required, especially if traveling to rural areas or the Amazon region. Please check with your local Center for Disease Control and Prevention. It is the sole responsibility of the traveler to make sure that he/she complies with all passport, visa and vaccination requirements. Cultural And Adventure Travel assumes no responsibility if a client is refused boarding of a plane or entry into a country.
DISCLAIMER
Advice Peru is not liable whatsoever for any claim arising out of or in connection with these packages, nor is it liable for loss of or damage or injury to property, or injury or death to person caused by reason of any defect, negligence or other wrongful act or omission by any transportation company, hotel, agency or any other cause beyond its reasonable control.
COMPLAINTS
Should the client have a complaint about any of the tour arrangements, it is a condition of the contract that you tell our local representative at the time. Failure to register a complaint at that time will deny us the opportunity to investigate and rectify the problem and thus prevent Advice Peru from accepting any form of responsibility. If the client has a dispute with Advice Peru which we are unable to resolve at that time, please write to us within 30 days of your return and we will investigate further.
RENTING EQUIPMENT
Damages to our equipment and associated fees will be determined by Advice Peru staff on all equipment. Damages may include: lost, bent or broken poles, sleeping bags, backpacks. Damage Fees: Hiking Poles $35.00 per pole.
