AndCoat HB LT is a solvent-free, high-build two-pack epoxy coating formulated for use in colder conditions. Designed to cure at lower temperatures, it provides the same outstanding durability, adhesion and chemical resistance as standard AndCoat HB, but with extended working times that make it suitable for winter application.
This coating delivers a smooth, gloss finish with exceptional resistance to water, oils, fuels and many chemicals. It is ideal for use on concrete floors, steelwork, bunds, tank linings and other industrial surfaces where both high performance and cold-weather application are required.
For best results, substrates must be sound, clean and free from contaminants:
Type: Two-pack solvent-free epoxy (low-temperature cure)
Finish: Gloss, high-build
Colours: Range of colours available
Mix Ratio: 4:1 by volume (Base : Hardener)
Volume Solids: Approx. 100%
Film Thickness:
Wet: 200–500μm per coat
Dry: 200–500μm per coat
Theoretical Coverage: 4–5m²/litre at 250μm DFT (practical coverage will vary)
Pot Life: 45–60 minutes at 10°C (shorter at higher temps)
Overcoating Interval: Minimum 16 hours, maximum 72 hours at 10°C
Full Cure: 7–10 days at 10°C
Chemical Resistance: Excellent against oils, fuels, water and many chemicals
Heat Resistance: Up to 60°C (dry heat)
VOC: Solvent-free
Mixing: Add Hardener to Base in the specified 4:1 ratio. Mix mechanically with a slow-speed drill and paddle until uniform. Only mix what can be applied within the pot life.
Application Methods: Suitable for brush, roller or airless spray. Apply in even coats, avoiding puddling.
Environmental Conditions:
Substrate & ambient temp: Min 5°C (up to 20°C)
Surface must be at least 3°C above dew point
Maximum RH: 85%
Overcoating: Recoat between 16–72 hours at 10°C. If maximum interval is exceeded, abrade to provide a key.
Curing: Full chemical cure achieved after 7–10 days at 10°C.
Cleaning: Use AndCoat Thinner or suitable solvent to clean tools and equipment immediately after use.
Storage: Keep in original unopened containers in a dry, well-ventilated area between 5°C and 35°C, away from direct sunlight.
A primer is not typically required for AndCoat HB on sound, non-porous substrates. However, in certain conditions, the correct primer should be used to ensure optimal performance and finish.
Using the appropriate primer ensures maximum adhesion, reduces surface defects, and supports long-term durability of the coating system.
