AndCoat HB Solvent Free Epoxy is a high-build, two-pack epoxy coating designed for concrete floors, steel and other demanding substrates where durability and chemical resistance are essential. Its solvent-free formulation provides excellent adhesion, outstanding wear resistance and a tough, gloss finish that stands up to heavy traffic and aggressive environments.
Ideal for use in factories, warehouses, workshops, garages and tank linings, AndCoat HB delivers long-lasting protection against water, oils, fuels, many solvents and general industrial use.

Ideal for tank lining, floors and structural surfaces
-
Can be used as a one-coat maintenance system over existing epoxy coatings
Surface Preparation
Correct preparation is essential for performance:
-
Concrete: Must be at least 28 days old, sound and fully cured. Remove laitance, weak or contaminated surfaces by mechanical means such as vacuum blasting or grinding. Repair surface defects before coating. Ensure the substrate is dry (max 75% RH).
-
Steel: Blast clean to minimum SA 2½ (ISO 8501-1) or equivalent, producing a sharp profile. If blasting is not possible, mechanically prepare to St3 standard. Apply immediately after preparation to avoid flash rusting.
-
Previously painted surfaces: Remove unsound coatings and thoroughly abrade any remaining coating to provide a key.
- All surfaces must be clean, dry and free from dust, oil, grease or contaminants.

Directions for Use
-
Mixing: Combine the Base and Hardener components in the specified 4:1 ratio. Mix mechanically with a slow-speed drill and paddle until uniform. Do not mix more material than can be applied within the pot life.
-
Application Methods: Suitable for brush, roller or airless spray. Apply in even coats, avoiding puddling.
-
Environmental Conditions:
-
Overcoating: Apply the next coat after a minimum of 8 hours, and before 48 hours, at 20°C. Beyond this, surface abrasion is required.
-
Curing: Allow 5–7 days at 20°C for full chemical cure.
-
Cleaning: Clean tools and equipment immediately after use with AndCoat Thinners or suitable solvent.
-
Storage: Store in a dry, well-ventilated area between 5°C and 35°C, away from direct sunlight.
Primers & Substrate Preparation
A primer is not typically required for AndCoat HB on sound, non-porous substrates. However, in certain conditions, the correct primer should be used to ensure optimal performance and finish.
-
AndPrime– Recommended for porous concrete substrates to improve adhesion and prevent pin-holing, helping achieve a smooth, uniform coating.
-
AndCoat DPM (Damp Proof Membrane) – Required where moisture levels are high (above 75% RH) to control moisture and protect the coating system from failure.
Using the appropriate primer ensures maximum adhesion, reduces surface defects, and supports long-term durability of the coating system.
