R. johnstoneanum is a rhododendron species that has fragrant blossoms of white with a yellow throat. There is a delicate yellow (and sometimes red) pattern on the dorsal for a touch of extra character. The leaves are elliptic and have distinctive tiny hairs that adorn the impressive texture and color profile combination.

These wonderful rhododendrons grow to about 4' tall when mature. Plant in partial shade to full sun. Hardy to 10°F when protected from windchill, and usually blooms midseason.
