The aptly named Black Widow rhododendron is a great dwarf hybrid varietal with very dark red blossoms with black accents. It's difficult for pictures to show just how deep and dark the red of the beautiful blossoms truly are atop the ecliptic green foliage. Bountiful ball-shaped trusses boast 19-21 flowers each and stand out in any garden.

This sought after plant is hardy to -5°F when protected from windchill, and it grows to about 3' in height. Plant in partial shade to full sun, water weekly as needed and watch for blooms around May depending on growing conditions.
