Verre Églomisé is the technique of gilding with gold or silver leaf to the reverse side of glass and etching a design into the gold. This process creates a brilliant, mirror-like finish. The technique is named after the 18th-century French decorator Jean-Baptiste Glomy, though the art form itself dates back to pre-Roman times.
For most of my versions of this beautiful process, I have added pressed flowers from the garden before guilding.
