For sale here is a beautiful Bob Summers Model 856 bamboo rod in mint condition. 8 feet in length for a 5 or 6 line. Serial #532013 made in 2013. Medium dark flamed. Exquisitely wrapped brown silks with black tipping blend seamlessly with the flamed cane. Bright guides. Garrison style hook keeper. Hybrid Ritz/full wells grip. Bright aluminum down-locking reel seat with a fine mortised wood spacer. Stamped on the butt cap, "R.W. Summers Co. Traverse City, MI. U.S.A.".  Oxidized nickel silver ferrules size 14/64, the fit is nice and tight as it should be. The rod comes with a "Heavy" tip and a "Light" tip. With the light tip the rod is swift on the faster side of medium fast; dry fly action. With the heavy tip it is a bit slower, more suited to wet flies; a definite noticeable difference. This is truly a do it all western trout rod. The rod weighs 5.10 oz. Original bag with ferrule plug tethered to the top to prevent loss and original tube with fine brass fittings.
