Ur Commitment To Sustainability
1. Tourism with Purpose and Responsibility
At Advice Peru, we believe that tourism can be a transformative force for good.
Every journey we design is an opportunity to create a positive impact on local communities, preserve our cultural heritage, and protect the ecosystems that make Peru a unique destination.
Our commitment is based on three fundamental principles:
-
TRANSPARENCY
We are honest about where we are and where we are going. We are not perfect, but we strive to improve every day. -
REAL ACTION
We prefer a few concrete, measurable actions over countless empty promises. Every project we undertake has faces, names, and verifiable results. -
LONG-TERM VISION
We believe in lasting relationships with communities. We do not practice extractive tourism; we build partnerships that grow and endure over time. We know the road to full sustainability is long, but we are committed to walking it step by step — together with our travelers, our team, and our partner communities.
💚In addition, 2% of every purchase made by our travelers goes directly to our foundation, supporting social, educational, and environmental projects in rural Peruvian communities.
2. OUR CERTIFICATIONS
Green Step Bronze: An Honest Beginning
We are Green Step Certified at the Bronze Level, the first step in the international sustainable tourism certification system.
What does this mean?
We have implemented the fundamental pillars of responsible tourism: an environmental management system, impact measurement, written policies, and a public commitment to continuous improvement.
Why Bronze and not higher?
Because we value transparency. We are formalizing processes that we previously applied intuitively. The Bronze level recognizes our first solid step and guides us toward Silver (2025) and Gold (2027).
Other Certifications:
- Formal Company (MINCETUR): We operate legally and contribute to national development.
- Safe Travels Protocol: We guarantee health and safety standards for all our travelers.
- In progress: UNICEF Code of Conduct for Child Protection.
Each certification represents one more step toward the responsible tourism model we aim to lead.
3. EDUCATION: OUR KINDERGARTEN PROJECT
One Classroom That Changed 32 Futures
In 2023, we achieved a long-awaited dream: to build a full classroom for the kindergarten in the highland community of [name], near Cusco.
The Project:
We built and equipped a safe, modern classroom for 32 children aged 3 to 5 who previously had no access to early education. It wasn’t just about constructing walls — it was about opening a door to the future.
It Includes:
- A 60 m² classroom with natural lighting
- Furniture adapted to the children’s height
- Teaching materials in Spanish and Quechua
- A safe playground area
- Adapted sanitary facilities
The Impact:
Today, 32 young children receive quality early education. Their mothers can work knowing their children are safe and learning. The local teacher now has a dignified job, and the whole community benefits.
Total Investment: S/ 85,000
Direct Beneficiaries: 32 children and their families
Jobs Created: 2 teachers and 1 assistant
“Seeing the children arrive every morning with their backpacks and smiles reminds us why we do this.”

4. APU TUI TUN: 20 YEARS OF PARTNERSHIP
More Than Support, a Lifelong Alliance
Our connection with the Apu Tui Tun Project began over 20 years ago. Since then, we have walked side by side in our mission to improve the quality of life in the high-Andean communities of Cusco.
Two Decades of Action
Over the years, we have focused our efforts on creating spaces that strengthen community life:
Built Infrastructure:
🏫 Community Hall: A multipurpose space for meetings, training sessions, and cultural events.
⚽ Soccer Field: More than a sports area — it’s a social hub for youth and adults.
🎠 Playground: A safe and stimulating environment for children to play and grow.
🏊 Community Pool: A space for recreation and swimming lessons for local children.
Ongoing Support:
- Regular donations of tables and chairs.
- Books and educational materials.
- Coordination of international volunteer visits.
- Support for local festivals and events.
- Maintenance of all built facilities.
Real Impact:
- 500+ children have used the park and pool.
- 1,000+ people use the community hall each year.
- 200+ young people practice sports regularly.
- 20+ community events are held annually in these spaces.
“Apu Tui Tun doesn’t need hundreds of new buildings. It needs constant support, genuine presence, and long-term commitment. That’s what we’ve provided for 20 years — and what we’ll continue to give.”
— Ernesto Alonso, CEO
5. INCLUSIVE TOURISM: PERU FOR ALL
Breaking Barriers, Building Bridges
At Advice Peru, we firmly believe that the magic of Peru should be accessible to everyone — regardless of physical ability, economic background, sexual orientation, or any other condition.
Physical Accessibility:
We are adapting our tours for travelers with reduced mobility. We currently offer partially accessible versions of the Cusco City Tour and Sacred Valley Tour.
Economic Inclusion:
We offer 10% discounts for Peruvian nationals and special programs for low-income local families.
Diversity and Respect:
We are an LGBTQ+ friendly company. Our team receives training in diversity and inclusion, and we maintain a zero-tolerance policy for discrimination.
Language Barriers:
Our guides speak Spanish, English, and Quechua, and we are incorporating basic sign language and Braille materials.
Every inclusive tour we operate, every barrier we remove, brings us one step closer to our dream: a truly accessible Peru for all.

7. MESSAGE FROM THE CEO
Letter from Ernesto Alonso, Founder & CEO
Dear traveler friends,
When I founded Advice Peru over two decades ago, my vision was simple yet powerful: to show the world the greatness of Peru while improving the lives of our people.
It has not been an easy road. We have made mistakes, learned, and grown. Today, we are not the biggest nor the most sustainable company in Peru — but we are one of the most committed to doing things right.
Our Green Step Bronze Certification is not a reason for arrogance; it is a reminder of how far we still have to go. The kindergarten classroom we built won’t change all of Cusco, but it changed the lives of 32 children. Our 20-year partnership with Apu Tui Tun hasn’t eradicated poverty, but it has given hope and opportunity to hundreds of families.
I won’t promise that we are carbon-neutral or zero-impact — that would be untrue. What I can promise is complete transparency, continuous improvement, and genuine commitment to every community we visit.
When you travel with us, you are not just a tourist — you are an ally in building a fairer form of tourism. Every tour creates decent jobs, every purchase supports local families, and every experience preserves ancestral traditions.
The Peru we show you is not perfect. There is poverty and inequality, but there is also hope, resilience, and beauty that transcends the material. That is the Peru we share with you: real, human, and full of spirit.
Thank you for trusting us, for traveling consciously, and for being part of this change.
Step by step, together, we are proving that another kind of tourism is possible.
With gratitude and hope,
Ernesto Alonso
