Polartec Power Dry Midweight Styles

Midweight Power Dry is very soft with a cottony feel. It's comfortable when worn next to skin and is an ideal base-layer fabric for those who can't tolerate wool. Most styles have a fabric face with a mesh appearance while the back is a smooth brushed jersey. Keep in mind that Polartec Power Dry is a "family" of fabrics that come in many styles, weights, and finishes. This page features the ones that we feel are middle weight. Sometimes this is a judgement call based on the feel of the fabric, it is not always based on exact weight. Structure of the knit can also affect its weight and warmth level. 

Polartec Power Dry was created to give base layer fabrics greater efficiency, more dependable wicking properties, faster dry times and better overall performance.

Not all base fabrics are created equal and many can only provide temporary wicking chemistry that fades and weakens with every wash. By designing mechanical wicking fabric with  patented bi-component construction, Polartec® created a superior base material that pulls moisture from the skin, expands for faster evaporation and lasts the life of the fabric.  Moving moisture away from the skin and allowing continuous evaporation prevents your base layer from becoming saturated.   This helps to regulate your temperature in hot and cold conditions.
