This lovely jacket may have been produced for the 1976 Russian Collection. It is a rich cotton/rayon velvet of black with a slight overcast of blue. It is the color of the midnight sky. The cotton braid cord trim and the plastic, scalloped buttons are jet black. There are only three buttons at the neck and upper chest, then the rest of the jacket is open to the bottom. The jacket has an A-line cut so there is a lot of flow and movement. The jacket is lined in silky acetate, and has deep side slashed pockets.
