Product Description: This antique necklace features 34 Chevron beads, renowned for their distinctive star or rosette patterns. Originating in the late 1400s, this technique was invented by Maria Valovier on the island of Murano, Italy. While Venetian beads typically draw on ancient methods, Chevron beads are unique to Venice. They can have up to 10 layers, with blue being the most common color, and red, green, and black being rarer. The technique later spread to the Netherlands. "Chevron" means "mountain-shaped" in reference to its pattern.
As an antique item, it may have scratches, cracks, or chips.
