Tokyo Kosei Wind Orchestra (TKWO) presents a series of "Brilliantly Selected Live Wind Band" featuring selected masterpieces of original wind band compositions from the orchestra's regular concerts. This album features Japanese works released in and after 2015, which will give you a sense of the current state of brass band music in Japan. Among them is "Symphony No. 3," a new work written by Hiroshi Hoshina, a leading figure in the brass band world, at the age of 84, and commissioned to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the TKWO. Under the exquisite baton of Takeshi Oi, TKWO's sympathetic singing and tight ensemble will present this monumental world premiere, which was an overwhelming success. (C)RS
