The SPAX 8×80mm WIROX Countersunk PartThread screw is a German-made timber construction screw built for framing, bearer and joist connections in decks, pergolas and outdoor structures. The partial-thread design lets the screw draw two timbers tightly together as the unthreaded shank pulls the join closed. SPAX's 4CUT self-drilling point and ground thread serrations cut cleanly into timber and reduce splitting, even near board edges, while the SPAX T-STAR plus T-20 drive resists cam-out and gives full torque transfer. Milling ribs under the countersunk head let it sit flush in timber and stop neatly on metal. The WIROX surface gives high corrosion protection, is free from chromium-VI, and outperforms conventional zinc plating for indoor and undercover timber work. We recommend pre-drilling in dense hardwoods.
