Our ingredients

To make our food, we dry-cure 10.6 kg of meat for a 12 kg bag, making it easier to incorporate into our kibble. With the right amounts of vegetables, fruit, and herbs, Yourdog is a healthy, nutritious choice for your dog.

Buffalo

At Yourdog, we use meat from free-raised, grass-fed buffalo. Buffalo meat is known for its creamy, fresh flavor and rich color, and it's packed with vitamins and minerals. With lower cholesterol and fat content and fewer calories, this tender meat is packed with health benefits.

Poultry

We have carefully examined the breed characteristics of the English Setter. We have also researched the characteristics of the FCI breed section and the FCI breed group to which the English Setter belongs. Based on this research, in consultation with leading Dutch nutritionists, we have selected ingredients that optimally benefit the health and well-being of the English Setter.

Yucca

This plant grows in the deserts of Southwest America and Northern Mexico. The roots of the yucca have been used for centuries by Native Americans in these regions as a medicine for rheumatism and arthritis. It reduces pain and inflammation in the joints.

Yucca can be added to our dog food because it may positively contribute to preventing breed-specific complaints related to rheumatism, arthritis, osteoarthritis, the intestines, and the heart. Yucca can also help reduce stool odor and alleviate foul-smelling gas.

Root

The carrot as we know it today, also known as the orange carrot, is the result of many years of crossbreeding. The first white carrots originated in Iran and were brought to the Netherlands by the Dutch East India Company (VOC) in the 17th century.

Carrots are an important source of vitamins and fiber. For example, carrots contain retinol (vitamin A1) and beta-carotene, which the body converts into vitamin A. This is important for building capillaries and maintaining the health of all cells. The fiber in carrots contributes to a dog's digestion. Furthermore, carrots are low in calories and good for their coat and skin.

Puppy, adult or senior?

To help you make the right choice between our English Setter dog food options, you can use the following guidelines. If your English Setter is under 11 months old, choose the Puppy variety. For an English Setter over 7 years old, we recommend the . If your dog is over 11 months old and under 7 years old, you can choose the Adult variety.

Nutritional advice

Switching advice

If you're switching to Yourdog from another food brand, we recommend following these steps. First, feed 25% Yourdog and 75% of the old dog food. Your dog can get used to this for two days. Then, feed 50% Yourdog and 50% of the old dog food. It's important to let your dog get used to this for two or three days as well. Finally, mix 75% Yourdog and 25% of the old dog food. Your dog is now almost completely switched to Yourdog. Continue this for two days. After this, you can switch to 100% Yourdog English Setter dog food at your own discretion.

Storage advice

After opening the Yourdog packaging, the food is exposed to oxygen, moisture, and light, which can affect its shelf life and flavor. Therefore, it's important to store the food properly after opening the bag, preferably in an airtight container or barrel in a dry, cool, and dark place. It's best not to put the food loose in the barrel, but to place the entire bag inside, sealing it as tightly as possible.
