I am not a connoisseur of many things but I am of Color Cubes, produced buy the US Embossing Co. Albany, NY--and this set of blocks is PERFECTION. An  early set, c. 1930, with that best early blue and mustardy yellow and very painterly white, and these perfectly aged but with really no paint loss at all. This is the largest, most luxurious set they produced, 81 blocks. In original box bottom, with jointed wooden frame and cardboard bottom, but lid long lost. Endless pattern making pleasure; I really do believe everyone needs at least one (but preferably many) sets of these in their life.

Box 10 1/2" x 10 1/2", cubes 1 1/16". Blocks in beautiful condition. Box bottom well worn, with cardboard bottom unattached from wooden frame in places, such that it needs to be lifted from the bottom or it might fall out from under them, though wooden frame itself is holding together fine and some tape would secure it.
