The Tektronix TCP202 is a DC coupled current probe designed to display and measure current in electronic circuits. It is a general-purpose probe that, when combined with a Tektronix TDS oscilloscope, enables direct-readout DC and AC current measurements that are accurately displayed and recorded. The probe connects directly to a TDS scope through the TEKPROBE BNC interface and draws its power from the oscilloscope, so no separate power supply is needed.

The TCP202 is suited to power supply and motor drive design and to device testing. Typical applications include motor drives, switching power supplies, disk drives, electronic ballasts, inverters, and avionics.

Product Core & Specifications

Important: Maximum bare wire voltage: 300 V (CAT I).

Important: DC accuracy is normally ±3%; it can be improved to ±1% only when the probe is calibrated using the optional Probe Calibrator (P/N 015-0672-50), which is functional only with TDS500, TDS600 or TDS700 Series oscilloscope calibrator pins.

Important: The Probe Calibrator (015-0672-50), required to achieve ±1% accuracy, is a Recommended Accessory and is not included with the base probe.

Important: For TCP202 operation with TDS400, TDS500, TDS600 and TDS700 Series oscilloscopes other than those listed, the scale factor will be correct but the measurement will be indicated as V instead of A.

Important: TDS5000/TDS5000B, TDS6000/TDS6000B and TDS7000/TDS7000B Series oscilloscopes require a TCA-BNC adapter for use with the TCP202.
