​​In his exploration of UV paint, the artist was inspired by natural, organic forms that emit their own light. This led him to active volcanoes and the challenge of recreating lava. The artist says: “The process was exhilarating, guiding the flow of molten lava around the stagnant black rock and sand, creating dynamic rivers of magma. This contrasts with the oceanic bodies of water I typically depict. My favorite aspect of this piece is how it truly comes to life under a blacklight. While it may go unnoticed in regular light, it commands attention with its vibrancy in UV light, transforming the entire experience for the viewer.”
