Hammond's Berries took the field in 1946 as part of Louisiana's postwar minor league boom. Named for the region's famous strawberry harvest, the club tied small-town pride to America's pastime during an era when every whistle-stop town dreamed of having its own ball club. Hammond gave that dream a name and a home. Part of our Defunct Baseball collection, inspired by the vintage Minor League teams of yesteryear.
The Details:
A vintage cartoon strawberry mascot in red and blue wears a baseball cap and glove in a fielding pose beside blue cursive text reading "Hammond." Large distressed red serif text reads "BERRIES" above blue script reading "Baseball Club." Red text reads "HAMMOND" and "LOUISIANA" flanking "1946," with small red diamond accents below.
