A knitwear project by Yonetomi that explores a modern interpretation of “everyday essentials” — thoughtfully engineered details and subtle refinements, made possible by a factory brand rooted in Japanese craftsmanship.

Instead of prioritizing softness alone, this custom cashmere yarn is spun with extreme high twist — right to the threshold where the fibers begin to break — to give the yarn inherent strength.

Unlike most cashmere knits that undergo washing and softening, this piece is delivered without any post-processing — a state that leaves the final finish in your hands. With wear and hand washing, the oils gradually lift, the core fibers relax, and a one-of-a-kind surface emerges.

It’s presented raw, with even the natural scent of spinning oil — a rarity in modern knitwear.
