For sale here is a pre-fire H.L. Leonard bamboo rod. 8' 3/2 for a five weight line. There's a sticker on the tube on which Walt Carpenter wrote "Cut down from a Model 50 1/2 to achieve 50DF action". The rod weighs 3 3/4 oz. and remains in excellent plus condition with all original Leonard period-correct hardware. All sections are straight. Cap and ring reel seat over butternut spacer. The original grip is in fine shape. The rod has full intermediate wraps. The ferrules are 16/64 and 10/64 and the ferrule fit is excellent. The tips are 5/64 or .0780". Dry fly action on the medium side of medium fast. Walt did a really nice job on this one!
