Flameguard™ Ultra Eggshell is a high-performance fire rated acrylic eggshell topcoat designed to provide a durable decorative finish while helping surfaces achieve Class B-s1, d0 fire protection as part of a tested coating system.

Designed for use in commercial, public and high-traffic environments, this specialist coating combines the appearance of a modern architectural finish with advanced fire protection performance.

Suitable for application over Broflame™ Ultra Base Coat on timber and Brosteel™ Ultra 60 on structural steel, Flameguard Ultra Eggshell helps reduce surface spread of flame and heat release, providing valuable escape time in the event of a fire.

Unlike many traditional fire protection coatings, Flameguard Ultra Eggshell applies much like a conventional paint and leaves behind a clean, professional low-sheen eggshell finish ideal for schools, hospitals, offices, apartment blocks and public buildings.

Surface Preparation

Timber Surfaces:

Ensure Broflame Ultra Base Coat has been correctly applied, evenly coated and fully dry before application.

Structural Steel

Ensure Brosteel Ultra 60 has been applied to specification and fully cured before top coating.

All surfaces should be:

• Clean
• Dry
• Sound
• Free from grease, dust and contamination

Coverage rates must be followed correctly to achieve certified fire performance.

Technical Data

Directions for use

1. Stir thoroughly before use
2. Apply by brush or roller
3. Apply 1–2 coats as required
4. Do not thin the product
5. Allow minimum 4 hours between coats
6. Apply between 5°C and 30°C

One coat is usually sufficient, although darker colour changes may require two coats.
