Quite possibly the best album title in all of industrial-disco--although Revolting Cocks' YOU GODDAMNED SON OF A BITCH has a certain earthy charm--1986's MIND: THE PERPETUAL INTERCOURSE is one of Skinny Puppy's most fascinating albums. This is clearly a transitional release that moves the duo of cEVIN Key and Nivek Ogre from the heavily Cabaret Voltaire-influenced sound of 1984's REMISSION and 1985's BITES into the near-symphonic shaping of found sound, film samples, and electronic beats. This sound would later spawn gems like CLEANSE FOLD AND MANIPULATE and VIVISECTVI. Three of this album's 13 tracks feature the sampling and electronic contributions of Dwayne Goettel whose hyperactive, Attention Deficit Disorder-style editing tricks give the songs a powerful and demented energy that the rest of the album lacks.
