This dwarf rhododendron species is ideal for bonsai or rock garden growth. This is a small plant that is low and compact, growing to only 1' tall at maturity. R. impeditum boast a lovely range of purple, blue and pinkish hues. Planting multiples will eventually grow together to form dense ground cover. However, it is suggested to start them planted about 15" apart.

The great flowers of R. impeditum sit atop attractive silver-grey foliage. It doesn't do as well in high heat so we recommend afternoon shade if planting in hot climates, and watering as needed. Hardy to -15°F when protected from windchill.
