A highly spiced nose offers up notes of very fresh and ripe black cherry, cassis, earth and soft floral nuances. In the same vein as the Charmes there is a relatively elegant mouth feel but in this case there is both more volume as well as more evident minerality to the overtly powerful but velvety big-bodied flavors that are backward, intense and wonderfully long. This is seriously old school and will need most of 20 years to arrive at its peak and as such I would strongly advise that you not buy this unless you expressly intend to cellar it for at least a decade.
