Corpus Christi's Pelicans took the diamond in 1910 as part of the Southwest Texas League. Class D ball brought organized baseball to a Gulf Coast town still finding its identity. Before air conditioning or major league broadcasts, minor league clubs like this one were the soul of a city's summers. Part of our Defunct Baseball collection, inspired by the vintage Minor League teams of yesteryear.
