TAILOR TOYO
Souvenir jackets are central to the history of Tailor Toyo. After World War II, U.S. soldiers stationed in Japan had jackets embroidered with oriental motifs and their unit names as commemorative items. These jackets were later sold as souvenirs. At the time, the company that supplied garments—including these souvenir jackets—to U.S. military bases was Kosho & Co. (Kosho Shokai), the predecessor of Tailor Toyo (Toyo Enterprise). Rather than a passing trend, Tailor Toyo remains the only brand that continues to preserve the culture of souvenir jackets.

Supple Drape from Rayon-Blend Cotton Twill
This fabric is a cotton twill blended with rayon, combining unique softness with a structured body for a comfortable feel against the skin.
Special finishing gives it a naturally faded look and relaxed drape, as if already well-worn. Though brand new, it carries the effortless charm of vintage clothing, making it easy to incorporate into everyday outfits.
The lining is made from acetate for smooth sleeve passage. Without padding, the jacket can be worn across multiple seasons while maintaining its distinctive drape.

The Classic Vietnam Jacket, Faithfully Reproduced
A tiger on the right chest.
“Fortune” embroidery on the left chest.
Dragons along both sleeves.
And a map of Vietnam on the back.
This is the quintessential Vietnam jacket embroidery layout. What really stands out is the tone of the thread colors: the subdued, faded embroidery blends seamlessly with the fabric, creating an authentic sense of age and character.
The front zipper features the “T.Y.E” butterfly zipper, originally created with reference to the hand-bent zippers of the 1950s, commonly known as “Tokyo Zippers.”

Dragon embroidery decorates the sleeves—an oriental motif that was especially popular among U.S. soldiers at the time.
The cuff buttons are inspired by antique coins, adding another authentic souvenir jacket detail.
A Relaxed Fit for Effortless Layering
While inheriting the slightly cropped silhouette typical of original Vietnam jackets, the fit has been updated to better suit modern styling. The ribbed hem remains soft and comfortable, making it easy to layer with inner pieces.
