Make a soap that is fun and full of nutritious ingredients!. This bar will leave your skin soft and moisturized with its rich later. We will be using local honey and organic oats.

Details: This workshop will last approximately 1.5 hours.
Safety: Please wear (or bring) long sleeves and closed toe shoes to work in.
Minimum age requirement is 15 years old.

"Honey Oatmeal: DIY Soap-Making Experience"
Duration: 1 to 1.5 hours
Audience: Adults or teens (15+), beginner-friendly
Teach the basics of cold process soap making
Let attendees customize soap with scent.
Explain saponification and safety protocols
Hand out gloves, goggles
Go over lye safety and workspace rules
Brief talk on:
What is saponification? (fat + lye → soap + glycerin)
Basic chemistry behind it
Types of oils and their properties
Lye handling and measuring
Facilitator performs the first batch
Show each step from oil blending to trace and pouring
Participants:
Choose a scent (e.g. lavender, peppermint, citrus, cedarwood)
Mix oils, add lye solution (pre-measured for safety)
Blend to trace
Add honey
Pour into mold
Label their soap with ingredients
Discuss curing time (4–6 weeks)
Take-home info sheets: curing tips, pictures of board
This class will include all materials and ingredients to make 1.5lbs of CP (cold process) soap (4 normal size bars) using Olio's Soap Recipe. If you would like to make more than 1.5lbs of soap, email [email protected]
You will be leaving class with the soap you created to cure for 30 days and then use or share.
