Hip Hop Chip Shop TV Cop Gun Goober Glamour from a time when gun crime was something that happened somewhere else to someone else on American TV. Gun Nuttah was cut from the same traced and vectorised hand drawn sessions as Moloko’s Dominoids and the Nine Lives of Mike St Ives.
This tee is from around 1994 when we did a few test prints on basic jerseys grey tees and is the original colour way from the first version of the new but unused cover for the Booth Clibborn version of the New & Used TDR book which didn’t eventually happen for another 23 years. We were too busy.
Gun Nuttah represented the stand and deliver Piracy on The Hi-tech aesthetic of creative appropriation we were deep diving into at the time.
There were probably around 25 of these tees tested.
