Broflame Ultra Base Coat - White is a high-performance, water-based intumescent coating designed to provide fire protection to interior timber surfaces.

When used as part of a complete system with Flameguard™ Ultra Topcoats, this coating helps achieve a Class B-s1, d0 fire rating, significantly reducing flame spread and heat release in the event of a fire.

Ideal for use in communal and high-traffic environments such as schools, hospitals and public buildings, Broflame Ultra allows you to combine fire protection with a decorative finish, giving you both compliance and appearance in one system.

In a fire situation, the coating expands to form an insulating char layer, helping protect the substrate and providing valuable time for evacuation.

Without the correct topcoat, the fire rating will not be achieved.

Surface Preparation

• Ensure all timber surfaces are clean, dry and free from grease or contaminants
• Remove any loose or flaking coatings
• Existing coatings must be sound and well adhered (max 4 coats)
• For gloss or eggshell finishes, abrade and clean thoroughly
• Timber must be a minimum of 9mm thickness
• Treat knots and resinous areas before coating

Good preparation is essential to achieve both adhesion and fire rating performance
