Easy Release Design

Empire Molds are made from HMWPE (High Molecular Weight Polyethylene), a smooth, resin-friendly material that quality slow-curing epoxies typically won’t bond to. Once cured, you can usually tap the sides and bottom to release the piece.

Do you need mold release?
Yes and no. Many makers can de-mold without it when using slow-curing, high-quality casting epoxies. That said, using mold release is a smart “best practice” to extend mold life and is especially recommended if you’re using resins outside the brands we carry.
