Azmaya collaborate with local artisans in Japan, helping to ensure their crafts are kept alive. These wooden boxes were traditionally used to store and distribute tea leaves in Shizuoka, the home of Japanese tea production. Known for their contemporary take on classic Japanese objects, Azmaya suggest using the boxes to store articles of clothing, dry and tinned foods, household items and accessories. These versatile boxes come in a range of sizes to adapt to your needs.

Selector's Notes

Made from cedar wood, which has natural water repelling properties, these tea boxes were cleverly designed to preserve their contents: the galvanised sheet of tin inside protects items from air and heat, whilst the layer of paper tape around the outside of the box uses a natural paste, providing an airtight seal.
