This IP20 rated emergency 3-hour switchable maintained LED Exit sign features powder coated white mild steel body, with 20mm cable entries BESA box fixings. This LED emergency exit sign offers an energy saving and cost-effective solution to fulfil emergency lighting requirements. The emergency exit box is supplied with legend arrow down with 3W low power consumption LED lamp. Ideal applications of this LED emergency exit sign are in commercial, industrial and retail.

What is the difference between maintained and non-maintained emergency lighting?
Maintained emergency lighting's purpose is to be lit continuously and will stay lit when there is a power failure or an emergency such as a fire. A maintained emergency light will allow the pathways or areas to be permanently illuminated and usually helps guide people to exit signs and safety. Sometimes these types of lighting solutions can double up as a normal light fitting.
Non-maintained emergency lighting has been designed to switch on in the instance of an emergency or power outage to help provide lighting to people who need to make their way to an exit or to follow an escape route. This kind of lighting solution provides a battery backup light source.

Why is Emergency Lighting so important?
It is essential that all occupied non-domestic buildings should have escape lighting to allow for safe exit should mains power fail. Emergencies luminaires have fitted back up batteries which are continuously charged during standard operation and have at least 3 hours of power. Lights must be installed to provide sufficient illumination according to the different areas of premises and must conform to the latest legislation.

Ideal for emergency exits, switchrooms and storage areas.
