These pistons have hardened domes and Teflon coated skirts. All piston assemblies include rings, wrist pins, and circlips. Race-Driven recommends that the following preliminary work be performed by a certified mechanic before installing a new piston. If your old piston fails, check the cause and resolve the problem before replacing it. Air leaks and/or lean fuel mixture are two big culprits for pistons.
