写真集 『Mikiya Takimoto Works 1998-2023』

独立した1998年から2023年まで、25年にわたる広告写真とコマーシャルフィルムを２部構成でまとめた「Mikiya Takimoto Works 1998-2023」 を青幻舎より刊行。瀧本が広告写真・作品・CM・映画と横断縦断しながら進めてきた軌跡の中から、仕事に絞ってまとめた写真集は、膨大な数の中から1割程度にセレクトする作業から始まりました。純粋な作品制作とは異なる仕事の写真でも、瀧本の中での向き合い方はどれも変わらず真っ直ぐに被写体へと向かいます。「Graphic」では、東京シティ競馬 トゥインクルレディー賞、としまえんプール、天然水、ポカリスエットなどを厳選。「Commercial Film」では、キリンラガービール、ダイワハウス、サントリーオランジーナ、JR東日本、マクドナルド、三井住友カードなど。シリーズで撮影している作品はシリーズでまとめて掲載している作品もあり、世界観をよりわかりやすくする工夫をしました。広告写真を約120作品、CMを約70作品、600ページというボリューム、瀧本の歩んできた軌跡の一部に浸ることができる一冊。

Seigensha has published Mikiya Takimoto Works 1998-2023, a collection of Takimoto’s 25 years of works from 1998, when he went independent, to 2023. The book is in 2 parts, advertising photography and commercial film. Compiling the collection of photographs started by selecting about one tenth of Takimoto’s huge professional oeuvre, which traces the length and breadth of his achievements in advertising photography, artwork, commercials, and film. While his work photography does differ from purely artistic creation, Takimoto maintains consistency in the way he internally faces the photographic subject in both. “Graphic” is a careful selection of works like the Tokyo City Keiba (Horseracing) Twinkle Lady Cup, Toshimaen Pool, Tennensui (mineral water), and Pocari Sweat. “Commercial Film” includes Kirin Lager Beer, Daiwa House, Suntory Orangina, JR East, McDonald’s, and Sumitomo Mitsui Card. The book also collates in series works that he shot in series, and is devised in a way that makes their different universes readily comprehensible. This 600-page volume includes some 120 works of advertising photography and about 70 commercial film works, letting readers immerse themselves in a part of the path Takimoto has taken.
