ABOUT THE IMAGE: This limited edition hand painted Bugs Bunny cel is from an original drawing by Bob Clampett. Bugs Bunny had several fathers and Bob Clampett was one of them. "Wabbit Twouble" made in 1941 was the first Bugs Bunny cartoon that Bob Clampett directed, or as the actual credits all in w's read Wobert Cwampett directed. Elmer Fudd was the co-star. Several other performances followed such as "Bugs Bunny Gets the Boid" 1942 - where Bugs foils Beaky Buzzard's best efforts to bring home rabbit for dinner, and "What's Cookin Doc?" 1944- where Bugs wins the booby prize at the Academy Awards. Although Bugs Bunny's character has evolved over the years, his personality was shaped during the years of the Second World War. Bugs was supremely confident even to the point of arrogance, yet he was always unarmed except for his wits and will to win. The character that made famous the line "What's up Doc?" remains Warner's most famous star.

ABOUT THE MEDIUM: Original production cels are one-of-a-kind pieces of art that were used in the creation of an animated film or television show. Each has been hand-painted by studio artists on a piece of celluloid acetate, and has been photographed over a background painting to create a frame of the finished production.
