This vintage Hermès “Napoléon” 90 cm bee jacquard silk carré pays tribute to Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte in true museum style. Designed by Philippe Ledoux and first edited in 1963, the scarf is woven in Hermès’ coveted bee-pattern jacquard, echoing Napoleon’s own emblem of power and renewal.
Across the subtly textured weave, imperial symbols are meticulously arranged: uniforms, swords, laurel wreaths, eagles and historic battle scenes surround a central ceremonial vignette, all framed by a rich chocolate-brown border scattered with golden bees.
Widely regarded as a rare and highly collectable Hermès design, Napoléon is prized by scarf enthusiasts and bee-jacquard aficionados alike. A striking piece of French history, perfect worn, styled on a bag or framed as art.
Faint red discolouration on the back side, not visible on the face of the scarf, as seen on photos.
