This hoe has been used since ancient times in the Aizu region of Fukushima Prefecture. The length of the head is long at approximately 430 mm, and the cutting edge is V-shaped. It is made of stainless steel that is rust-resistant and has good soil removal, and the cutting edge is made of forged steel. The komi (the part where the handle goes) is pentagonal, making it difficult to pull out and increasing strength and power transmission. The products are painstakingly handcrafted by hoe craftsmen in Echigo Sanjo, the town of cutlery.
