For sale here is a Maxwell-era Leonard Model 50DF-6 bamboo rod. 8' 3/2 for a 6 weight line. The rod weighs 4.85 oz. Serial no. 608. The rod remains in excellent- original condition with original bag and tube. All sections are full-length with no repairs. There are a few small chips in the varnish on the ferrules on the mid section. One of the tips has a slight set. Blonde cane with transparent honey colored wraps, dark cinnamon tipping at the winding check and tip-tops, burgundy tipping at the ferrules. Chocolate colored wraps over the ferrule tabs. Tips are differentiated by one and two dots. Oxidized guides and tip-tops. Ring hook-keeper. Mildly swelled butt. The precise writing on the rod (hallmark of a true Maxwell-Leonard rod) remains clean and bold. Sculpted, oxidized, german silver winding check. Maxwell-typical thin tapered cigar grip with soiling and extremely slight ridging. Bright aluminum up-locking reel seat with a beautifully figured, mortised tiger maple spacer. The ferrules are size 10/64 and 16/64 and the fit is excellent. The action is medium-fast, with very smooth and delicate tips for precise targeting. The butt cap is stamped:
