For sale here is a pre-fire H.L. Leonard Model 38ACM bamboo rod -- 7 feet, 2/2 for a 3-4wt line. Excellent original condition. The varnish is in good condition with some use marks as one would expect. Nothing of concern though. All sections are full length and reasonably straight. Standard Leonard node spacing on each rod section. The diminutive cigar grip measures 4 3/8". Filler has been applied to the upper portion of the grip. There is also light ridging in the lower section. Cap and "wedding band" style ring over the standard Leonard butternut spacer. Teal/lime wraps with burgundy tipping at the winding check and ferrules. The rod weighs 2.20 oz. Ferrule size is 11/64 with an excellent fit. The action is a smooth medium. A wonderful Catskill small stream rod. Includes original bag with hang tag and stiffening dowel as well as the original tube with brass fittings. A rare find and a wonderful small stream fishing rod that someone will surely enjoy very much.
