The new Makita DC40RA 40V MAX XGT Li-Ion Rapid Charger accepts 40V MAX XGT Li-Ion 2.5 (BL4025) and 4.0 Ah (BL4040) batteries (sold separately). The optimum charging system regulates thermal, voltage and current during charging cycle to ensure battery cannot be overcharged or overheated during the charging process. The Central Processing Unit (CPU) in the battery communicates with the charger to analyze battery and charge according to its unique condition. Forced air cooling fans keeps battery and charging circuits at optimum charging temperature and prevents over heating. Digital power display indicates condition of battery and current charge level (-80%, +80%, 100%). Use with adapter ADP10 to charge 18V Li-ion compact, 3.0, 4.0, 5.0 and 6.0 Ah batteries.
