The Sofinn Range medical couches are an entry range variable height couch by Aspiration Life Ltd. They provides strength, elegance and reliability. The simple but strong design features locking castors on the base to allow easy positioning within the room. The top provides a wide and steady platform with crease free anti-bacterial upholstery that can be cleaned with standard NHS grade cleaning materials such as AZO, Clinell and 10000 ppm hypo-chlorite solutions.

These couches are electrically adjustable for height using a hand controller, (foot operated controller available on request) and can be adjusted from 46cm to 91cm high. The head section will adjust from minus 20 degrees for a head down position to 85 degrees for an upright position using a gas assisted strut. With a safe working load of 260kg (40 stone) it might be that this couch will provide your surgery with a semi-bariatric couch as well as a standard general couch saving money.

Manufactured in the UK these couches are fitted with a Linak actuator for years of reliability Indeed the couch comes with a warranty of 7 years in the frame and 3 years on the moving parts.

Care when using a Medical Couch:

The electric or hydraulic couch must be positioned so that they do not touch a wall. The couch may “swing” backwards as it rises so care must be taken to ensure there is sufficient clearance. The couch should be lowered sufficiently for the patient to easily mount and dismount the couch. If small children are in the room then care must be taken to ensure they are away from the mechanism so entrapment can not happen.It is good practice to use a couch roll ensure cleanliness and good hygiene. All electric cables and connection should be periodically checked for wear. The weight of the patient should be noted. These couches are not bariatric in design and overload can cause damage. The vinyl upholstery is thick and hard wearing. Should damage occur the relevant part can be replaced with ease.
