In late spring to early summer the fragrant white flower clusters catch the eye of eastern woodland trail hikers, and pollinators, alike. In the garden, New Jersey Tea will do no less. Flower panicles appear at the tips of the stems on low mounded foliage that typically grows 3' tall and 5' wide. This native prefers average to dry soil and has a deep root system that allows it to survive periods of drought and serve as erosion control. The tap root, however, also makes it difficult to transplant. Plant 5' apart.
