A Direct-Vent system uses two vent pipes. One draws air in from outdoors to support combustion. The other exhausts the by-products of combustion to the outside. The two vent pipes may be concentric (exhaust pipe within a larger diameter intake pipe) or co-linear (separate pipes of about the same size).

Combustion takes place inside a sealed chamber – with a glass front in the case of a fireplace. Room air circulates around the combustion chamber, often assisted by a blower, to heat the room.

A DV system is often installed along an outside wall to simplify the vent run, but can also be installed elsewhere in the home and vented through the roof.

Tahoe Direct-Vent Fireplaces:

Tahoe Clean-Face Deluxe models feature our Contour tube-style burner, designed to complement the hand-painted ceramic fiber log set, and produce a natural dancing flame. The Clean-Face Deluxe Fireplace comes with a discreet air distribution channel that eliminates the look of louvers, yet still allows you to operate the optional blower. It features a large tempered glass window that provides an unobstructed view to the log set. Choose an optional liner to customize your fireplace.

Tahoe Clean-Face Deluxe models require 17-3/4, and use 4 x 6-5/8 venting, making them ideal for applications where wall-cavity space is tight. Designed for in-wall installation, your Tahoe Direct-Vent fireplace can be finished with tile or other non-combustible material, which conceals the outer edge of the fireplace to provide a true built-in appearance.

The available lighting kit draws attention to the intricate details in the log set and brick liner – even when no fire is burning. You can enhance heat distribution with the optional variable-speed blower. Both the light and blower include dimmer controls. Clean-Face Premium models are available in Millivolt and Intermittent Pilot.

Tahoe Clean Face Luxury:

With its large ceramic glass window and clean-face design, this luxury direct-vent fireplace creates the illusion of a site-built fireplace, but offers the convenience and operating efficiency of a modern gas system.  The traditional luxury clean-face fireplace is available in 36-inch and 42-inch models.

Tahoe Clean-Face Luxury fireplaces are heater rated, so they will mesmerize your friends and family as well as warm your room.  Zone heating with a gas fireplace saves energy while warming the rooms you use most. The available blower helps circulate warm air more quickly.

Designed for in-wall installation, our Clean-Face Luxury models require just over 22 inches of depth. The venting connects to the top of the fireplace, but can run out the wall or up through the roof.  Tile or other noncombustible material may be used to conceal the outer edge of the fireplace to create a true built-in system.
