The piston is coated with ArmorPlating, a Wiseco surface treatment that covers the crown, ring groove, pin bore, and undercrown. ArmorPlating protects against heat and blast wear. The ArmorFit skirt coating adapts to the proper piston-to-wall clearance during initial operation and stays at that clearance, reducing operating friction throughout the life of the piston. Racer Elite 4-stroke pistons feature an asymmetric skirt design that minimizes contact with the cylinder wall and keeps weight down. It also has an ArmorGlide skirt coating to keep friction as low as possible. The Racer Elite 4-stroke piston is a fully machined billet that allows for optimal weight optimization and precision machining of the boxed under-crown structure.
