The 2015 Fleurie Abbaye Road is superb, bursting with scents of creamy black cherries, grilled meat, dried rose petals and wood smoke. On the palate, it's full-bodied, layered and complete, with a multidimensional core, considerable concentration and remarkable energy despite its rich, atypically powerful profile. When I first encountered this wine, shortly after release, it showed a touch of volatile acidity that was imperceptible in these bottles.
