HG 1/100 YF-21 from "Macross Plus" — the rival prototype released as a kit with Limiter Release mode.

The fourth entry in the HG Macross plastic line is the YF-21, the prototype that contested the next-generation main fighter slot against the YF-19. The kit uses swap-parts three-stage transformation to streamline the sequence while preserving the easy-build feel and wide pose range characteristic of HG. GERWALK, Fighter and Battroid modes are all reproduced, and the distinctive Limiter Release mode is added through dedicated configuration. The head adopts subtle expressions through a neck-base movable axis and ball joint, the shoulders deliver wide range through movable duct and shoulder joints, and the chest carries multiple internal axes for full torso freedom. The polarized canopy opens and closes, an effect part reproduces the Pinpoint Barrier Punch, ultra-thin nemoer stickers handle the markings, and the bundled joint parts allow display on a separately sold action base even in Limiter Release mode.
