High-Performance, Breathable Finishing Plaster for Damp-Proofed Walls

Sovereign Renderlite Finish Plaster is a gypsum-based finishing plaster designed as the final coat over Sovereign Renderlite Renovating Plaster or other suitable backgrounds. Once cured, it forms a hard, breathable surface that resists salt migration, making it ideal for use in damp-proofing systems.

System Compatibility

Sovereign Renderlite Finish Plaster is designed as the final layer in the Sovereign Damp-Proofing and Replastering System. It should always be applied over a compatible backing coat such as Sovereign Renderlite Renovating Plaster, Ready Render, or a sand/cement mix incorporating Sovereign SBR.

This system is typically used after the insertion of a chemical damp-proof course (DPC) and provides a breathable, salt-resistant solution for replastering salt-contaminated walls.

Typical System Sequence:

1. Install damp-proof course (DPC)
2. Remove salt-contaminated plaster
3. Apply Sovereign Renderlite Renovating Plaster
4. Finish with Renderlite Finish Plaster (1.5–3 mm)
5. Delay decoration to allow full drying and salt migration

Application Guidelines

1. Ensure the background plaster is fully cured and dust-free.
2. Mix powder into clean water, allow to stand for 5 minutes, remix as needed.
3. Apply at 1.5–3 mm thickness using a suitable plastering trowel.
4. Avoid over-polishing to maintain breathability and compatibility with finishes.
5. Allow plaster to fully dry before decoration.

Limitations & Drying Guidance

• Not for use on: plasterboard, previously painted surfaces, or any substrate requiring a polished or glazed finish.
• Not suitable for exterior applications; Renderlite Finish is an internal-use-only product.
• Drying Times: Allow 7–14 days (depending on conditions and thickness) before painting. Maintain good airflow to accelerate drying. Avoid forced drying methods.
• Post-DPC Use: If applied after a new damp-proof course, delay paint application as long as possible. Wallpapering must be postponed for a minimum of 6 months.

Usage & Safety

• Contains cement and lime—may cause skin, eye, and respiratory irritation.
• Wear gloves, goggles, and a dust mask during mixing and use.
• Ensure good ventilation in the work area.
• In case of contact with eyes or skin, rinse thoroughly with clean water and seek medical advice if needed.
