The Ultimate Dream Debut for a Pitcher
Rare Full Ticket, Highest graded of only 2 known- PSA

On September 22, 1954, Karl Spooner of the Brooklyn Dodgers made a historic debut against their archrival, the New York Giants. In a stunning performance, Spooner struck out 15 batters—an extraordinary feat considering a baseball game has only 27 total outs. While this was accomplished just one other time in history--that by the great J.R. Richard in 1971, Spooner's remarkable achievement set the tone for an unforgettable start to his career.

Offered is a rare Full Ticket from that impressive first-game performance. Its condition is truly remarkable—unblemished, with no creases or writing. It seems the original owner missed witnessing a monumental moment in Dodgers history firsthand.

Karl Spooner's second Major League game was also notable, though not quite as sensational as his debut. Four days after his remarkable first game, he struck out 12 batters and pitched a complete game 4-hitter. With two starts under his belt, Spooner had recorded two shutouts and allowed just seven hits in total—a truly impressive feat and a memorable footnote in baseball history. Spooner's career, unfortunately, was a short one. After injuring his arm the following year, his time in baseball came to an end. His final game was a start (and loss) in Game 6 of the 1955 World Series against the Yankees. He passed away in 1984 at the young age of just 52.

For collectors of significant baseball events, especially those who focus on ticket stubs or full tickets from important games, this is a must-have. Its scarcity is unmatched; through our research, we were unable to find another example offered or sold in the past. It is that rare and possibly even unique.

This piece comes fully authenticated and encapsulated by PSA/DNA, ensuring its provenance and condition. A true gem for any serious collector or enthusiast of baseball history!
