Dolce & Gabbana’s step into the new millennia was refreshing by all accounts. Introducing silhouettes akin to utility, the label immersed themselves under a militaristic persona. Popularized by designers like Helmut Lang, the tactical revolt provided a new take on utilitarian traditions. Incorporating luxury furs and expert tailoring, founders Stefano Gabbana and Domenico Dolce unapologetically pushed the envelope, straying far from their classic Italian roots. In the heat of the anti-fashion movement, experiment was encouraged and Gabbana embraced it.
