Gallipoli Red deciduous azalea has brilliant frilly blooms of red that show as early as May and into June, depending on growing conditions. Hybridized in Great Britain in the 1940s, this plant also has shiny green to red foliage that bring extra character outside of bloom time. 

Gallipoli Red has an upright growth pattern that reaches 8' to 10' tall at maturity. It likes lots of sun and can handle some shade. Cold hardy to -20°F when protected from windchill.
